High Blood Pressure

> Uncontrolled blood pressure can have serious effects on the heart and kidneys.
> Recommendations are that your blood pressure be lower than 140/90 and even lower if you have diabetes and heart disease.
Clinvest, in association with Doctors Hospital Family Care in Rogersville, is looking for volunteers to participate in a medical research study.  The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new category of investigational medications for the treatment of high blood pressure.  Qualified candidates will receive all study-related evaluations and medication plus modest compensation for time and travel.

Acute Migraine
We are seeking volunteers to test a novel delivery system for an FDA approved drug used to treat acute migraine.
If you:
> Are 18 -65 years of age  
> Experience an average of 2-8  migraines a month and not more than 10 headache days a month
> Are in overall good health
Please consider enrolling in this medical research study.
Qualified candidates will receive study related medical evaluations and study medication to treat migraines for 60 weeks free of charge plus compensation for time and travel.

Post Herpetic Neuralgia Research Study
Did you know that 20% of those who have suffered from Herpes Zoster, also known as shingles, experience post herpetic neuralgia (PHN).  PHN is a painful condition that may last for months or even years after the rash associated with Herpes Zoster is gone. If you have suffered from of PHN for at least 3 months, you may qualify for a medical research study being conducted by Clinvest and Doctors Hospital South Family Care.  The purpose of the study is to test a medicine that is investigational for the treatment the pain associated with PHN. Qualified candidates will receive all study-related evaluations and study medication plus modest compensation for time and travel.

Herpes Labialis (Cold Sores)
Clinvest is seeking volunteers who suffer from cold sores for a research study.  The purpose of the study is to evaluate an investigational formulation of a drug already approved to treat cold sores.
If you:
> Are age 18 or older
> Are in overall good health
> Have experienced at least 4 outbreaks of cold sore in the past 12 months

Chronic Low Back Pain
Clinvest is seeking volunteers who suffer from chronic low back pain for a medical research study. The purpose of the study is to compare two medications that are investigational for the treatment of recurring low back pain.
Candidates must:
> Be in over-all good health
> Be over the age of 18
> Have suffered from moderate to severe low back pain for the past 3 months
> Take medication for low back pain on most days

New Investigational Medication Being Tested For The Prevention of Migraines
If you:
>Are age 18-65
>Experience up to 4  migraine headaches per month
> Are in overall good health
You may be eligible to enroll in this medical research study for migraine prevention. The study lasts for 20 weeks with an optional 13 month extension.  No insurance is necessary because if you qualify you will receive all study related medical exams and tests plus study medication at no charge.  Compensation for time and travel is also provided. Post-Traumatic Headaches
Clinvest is conducting a research study to evaluate the effectiveness of a medication for post-traumatic headache.
 If you:
> Are ages 18 - 55
> Have had a concussion in the past 5 years.
> Have had a headache problem since the concussion
> Have problems with concentration and memory
> Are presently medically stable
